Friends of the Clinton Township Public Library
The Friends of the Clinton Township Public Library was established in 1987 to promote and aid the library and its programs. To raise money, the Friends hold used book sales. The Friends generally meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 4 pm in the library's meeting room. Anyone interested in supporting the library is welcome and invited to become a Friend of the Library.
Membership is $5.00 per year for an individual/couple/family; or a $100 lifetime payment. This can be dropped off at the library, attention Friends of CTPL.

The Friends of Clinton Township Public Library miss seeing all of our friendly shoppers and avid readers. So, the Friends have a PLAN!
Due to Covid 19 restrictions and the need to protect both our valued shoppers and dedicated Friends volunteers, we will open the book sale room with limits and requirements. We thank you for your understanding and patience. We hope our shopping environment will allow even the most cautious reader to feel safe and welcome. Cold weather is coming and we all need books to entertain us through the long Michigan winter.
For the past few months, the Friends of CTPL have been hard at work making the downstairs book room as safe as possible for both our customers and our volunteers. You will find somewhat fewer books, better organization and space to social distance while shopping.
In keeping with the Clinton Township Public Library Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response Plan, masks must be properly worn (covering both nose and mouth) throughout your visit to the book sale.
We have decided the best way to limit the number of shoppers at any one time is to have reserved appointment times. Each half hour time slot can accommodate up to four individual shoppers.
As we begin this plan, we are offering sign up times on Tuesday afternoons (1pm – 3pm) and every other Saturday (10am – 12pm). Select a time slot most convenient to you, then click Submit and Sign Up. Please include the number in your party (if all one family, comment 'family').

* We recommend you confirm current details for donating books with the CTPL staff at 517-456-4141 before bringing them to the library. Covid-19 recommendations and restrictions are updated periodically which may cause a change in our procedures.
Book donations are now being accepted on a LIMITED basis. Due to Covid-19, all donations must be quarantined for a minimum of seven (7) days before being handled by Friends volunteers or library staff. A limited space for quarantining is available. For these reasons, the following limitations will be strictly enforced:
Donations will be accepted only at these times
Tuesdays 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Thursdays 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Saturdays 10:00am - 2:00pm
Note: Please do not leave donations outside the front door. Please inform staff at the service counter that you have a book donation so they can arrange for the donation to be taken to the quarantine location.
2. Donations are limited to two (2) boxes or four (4) paper grocery bags per drop off.
Note: Banker or copy paper size boxes are recommended. Please do not fill huge boxes that cannot be lifted by an average 70 year old woman.

The Friends and CTPL staff greatly appreciate your generous donations of gently used books and puzzles. Your understanding and cooperation as we safely and carefully ease back into book sales and handling donations is appreciated.
