Friends of the Clinton Township Public Library

About the

The Friends of the Clinton Township Public Library was established in 1987 to promote and aid the library and its programs. To raise money, the Friends hold used book sales.  The Friends generally meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 1 pm in the library's meeting room. Anyone interested in supporting the library is welcome and invited to become a Friend of the Library.

Membership is $5.00 per year for an individual/couple/family; or a $100 lifetime payment. This can be dropped off at the library, attention Friends of CTPL.

This month we will continue to offer ALL "pocket" paperbacks, that are not specially priced, for .25, which is half off our usual price! In addition, we are featuring a table FULL of half-priced vintage items and Nora Roberts books priced at "Buy One Get One Free". We hope you find good bargains there! Features this month include Politics and Presidents, Hunting and Fishing and Coffee Table books.

In the Children's area we continue to feature learning books and Christmas items. New features are Diary of a Wimpy Kid items and a large collection of best quality books at slightly higher prices which would be suitable for gift giving. All areas have been fully restocked including the Teen and T(w)een, homeschooling, picture book, nonfiction, and chapter book sections.

Our Rare and Vintage shelves hold many "new to us" items and our "by donation" area is expanded and very well organized.

Book Donations

Book donations are welcomed.

  1. Donations of gently used books are needed and appreciated.  They are the lifeblood of our monthly book sales!  Donations may be dropped off when the library is open. Just bring them to the front desk or ask the staff for a cart (we try to leave an empty cart on the elevator.) Library hours are Monday - Thursday 11 am to 7 pm, Friday 11 am - 6 pm and Saturday 10 am - 2 pm.  If you have questions about donating books, the library's phone number is 517-456-4141.

Note:  Please do not leave donations outside the front door.  Wet or weather damaged books make us cry!

Please do not put donations in the library drop box.  The library drop box is strictly for library book                  returns.

  2.  Donations are limited to four (4) boxes or six (6) paper grocery bags per drop off.

Note: Banker or copy paper size boxes are recommended.  Please do not fill huge boxes that cannot be lifted by an average 70 year old woman!

  3. We cannot accept

           Encyclopedia sets

           Old textbooks

           Magazines

           Damaged Books

           Cassette Tapes

  4.  We accept cash, check (with

       ID) or debit/credit card (3%

       surcharge applied).
