Mary, while originally from California, has lived in Clinton since 2011. She has worked at the Clinton Township Public Library since 2019 and has been Director since 2023. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Library and Information Sciences at Wayne State University.
"What is your favorite part of working at the library?"
Mary: My favorite part of working at the library is definitely the patrons! I love chatting with them, hearing about their lives, their newest read, what books they love, what books they hate, their amazing dinner they're making that night, ANYTHING!
"What is your favorite book?"
Mary: Can I pick a genre instead? I love dystopian novels. My favorite books are all dystopian- 1984, The Giver, The Handmaid's Tale, I love reading about a society who fights for what they believe in.
"What do you love most about reading"
Mary: I love reading from and learning from other perspectives. I love to read books that have multiple points of view. It's truly magical. I don't have to like a book (or its characters) to enjoy reading it. I just have to enjoy the experience I get from reading it.
"What is your favorite food?"
Mary: Tacos! or any combination of the ingredients: meat, cheese, tortilla, spices, etc. I will eat tacos for any meal.
